• Coronary CT angiography (CCTA) in the emergency department reduced the length of hospital stay and allowed more patients to be discharged directly from the emergency department. However, CCTA resulted in more downstream testing and higher exposure to radiation. Treatment of patients with acute chest pain but an inconclusive initial evaluation with the use of biomarkers and electrocardiographic (ECG) testing is often diagnostically challenging and inefficient.
