• The authors describe the diagnosis, differential diagnosis, establishment of indications and successful treatment of chronic pain conditions that are not caused by tumours. The aim is to motivate psychotherapists to become involved in pain therapy and provide them with the skills they need to do this. The book is also a guide to the 'Psychosomatic Pain Therapy' curriculum established by the German Association for Psychosomatic Medicine and Medical Psychotherapy (DGPM) in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Association for Psychosomatic Pain Therapy (IGPS). Die Autoren vermitteln in diesem Band das erforderliche Wissen für Diagnostik, Differentialdiagnose, Indikationsstellung und eine erfolgreiche Therapie bei nicht tumorbedingten chronischen Schmerzerkrankungen. Im Mittelpunkt steht dabei ein bio-psycho-soziales Schmerzverständnis. Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt liegt auf stressbedingten Schmerzerkrankungen. Das Buch möchte ärztliche und psychologische Psychotherapeuten für ein Engagement in der schmerztherapeutischen Versorgung motivieren und ihnen die dafür nötige Kompetenz an die Hand geben.
