  • In this chapter, we propose an exercise to translate into words what we have been experiencing in the scope of the project Microfonias: Invention and Sharing of Listening. Rather than presenting a uniform and well-bounded theoretical discussion about listening, we raise questions and share thoughts, intuitions and insights that emerge from a collaborative process of research-creation strongly marked by experimental and speculative practices aimed at listening. It is this context that we analyse and reflect on Dispatches, one of the actions we undertook as part of the Microfonias project. Started during the COVID-19 pandemic, this action consists of non-verbal and asynchronous conversations that unfold by means of poetic language. Our analysis path involves a circuit of relations that freely navigates through artistic objects and textual production, and which reveals a kind of cartography of our listenings. Through this cartographical movement, we seek to share not only what we hear, but how our listening navigates. By analysing this action, we want to show in what way relations emerging from listening transcend the place of the physical body, as well as sound as a vibrational entity, unveiling the relational and multimediated nature of listening.
