- Highlights • Fish 5α-Rs showed medium/high degree of similarity to the mammalian isoforms. • DHT was identified and quantified in fathead minnow plasma and testis by GC–MS/MS. • Both conjugated and un-conjugated forms of DHT were detected in fish tissues. • Results suggested that the testis is a site of synthesis of DHT in the fathead minnow.
