• "Statistical Yearbook of the Republic of Slovenia is the central and the most comprehensive regular Slovene-English publication of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia. It is intended for the widest circle of users both in Slovenia and abroad. Because we wish to offer to our users the most complete information an developments in our country, the Yearbook brings results of statistical surveys carried out by the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia and authorised producers of statistical surveys as well as summarised data of some other institutions. In our work we dedicate special attention to methodological modernisation of statistical surveys and to statistical terminology and harmonise both to changes in the society and economy. In harmonising and developing new methodologies we co-operate with the Statistical Office of the European Communities, the European Central Bank, the European Environment Agency and other European institutions, offices of the United Nation and statistical offices of other countries. By using international statistical standards we provide international comparability of data. Statistical Yearbook of the Republic of Slovenia 2oo8 is the 47h issue of this publication. The structure of chapters is traditional: each chapter starts with methodological explanations - describing sources and methods of data collection, some essential explanations that help users understand the data correctly, some basic definitions of terms used in tables and the titles of statistical publications in which data of the respective field of statistics are published continues with the tabular part - which is the most comprehensive and the central part of each chapter - and usually ends with charts. In most chapters the first table shows data for longer time series. Regional data collected with individual statistical surveys are shown together in special chapters, i.e. Review by Statistical Regions, Review by Municipalities and Review by Urban Areas. They are followed by the International Review, which enables the comparison of data on Slovenia with those of other Member States of the European Union." Die Untersuchung enthält quantitative Daten.
