El currículum oculto en los textos de lectura escolar: la cartilla “Nacho”, libro inicial de lecturas

Resumen: Este artículo resulta de la investigación
que busca sensibilizar y visibilizar el currículum oculto
en la cartilla Nacho, de la cual se han vendido muchos
millones en varios países latinoamericanos durante más
de cuatro décadas. Dicha investigación, se llevó a cabo
usando el método descriptivo, una revisión bibliográfica y
entrevistas, en la cual 150 personas fueron interrogadas,
incluyendo hombres y mujeres de diferentes estratos del
departamento del Atlántico, cuyas edades estaban entre
16 a 42 años, que tuvieron la cartilla Nacho como texto
en su educación primaria. Se encontró que la cartilla
Nacho reafirma la exclusión y la subordinación de clase,
género y etnia a través de su currículum oculto textual
y visual, lo cual es una limitante para el desarrollo
integral de hombres y mujeres y por tanto de la sociedad.
Además, se privilegia en textos e imágenes a la religión
católica, excluyendo a otras religiones. Es necesaria la
creación de modelos pedagógicos que no hagan de las
diferencias un motivo de exclusión.

Abstract: This article is the result of research that aims
to raise awareness and make visible the hidden curriculum
on the Nacho ABC book, which has sold millions of
books in several Latin American countries during more
than four decades. The research was conducted using
the descriptive method, a review of the literature and
interviews of 150 persons, including men, women from
the different social strata of Atlántico Department whose
ages were between 16 to 42 years, and who were taught
with this reader. It was found that the Nacho early reader
reinforces exclusion and subordination by reasons of
social class, gender and ethnicity through its textual
and visual hidden curriculum, which is a limiting factor
for the integral development of men and women, and
therefore of society. Texts and images show only Catholic
churches, excluding other religions. It is necessary to
create pedagogical models that do not make social
differences a reason for exclusion.Key words: hidden curriculum, Nacho ABC book,
