Beschreibungen/Notizen
  • Most prominent feature of poets who lived and composed in Aksaray is their relation with mystic circles. Many important poets in this era were prominent figures in these circles. These poets were also interested in religious sciences and they wrote books in these areas. It is known that some of these poets were writing poetry in Persian and Arabic languages as well as Turkish. Poems written in classical period in Aksaray didn’t mostly pursue artistic concerns but were instrumentals to transfer religious realities and wisdom. Besides, there are poems that express social problems of the era. In this paper, we will examine poets who lived in classical period in Aksaray and their poems and we will evaluate this information to present a general view of poetical environment in the city.
