• Die Studie ist im Rahmen des "Bundesberichts Wissenschaftlicher Nachwuchs" (BuWiN) der Bundesregierung erstellt worden. Dessen dritte Ausgabe wurde im Februar 2017 der Öffentlichkeit präsentiert. HoF ist seit 2006 als Mitglied des Wissenschaftlichen Konsortiums an der Erarbeitung des Bundesberichts beteiligt. Diesmal hatte es das Institut übernommen, (a) das breit gefächerte Förderspektrum außeruniversitärer Forschungseinrichtungen, auf EU- und Bund-Länder-Ebene sowie von Förderorganisationen und Stiftungen aufzubereiten, (b) die Vielfalt verschiedener Formen der Promotion auf der Basis statistischer Analyse und eines Literaturreview systematisch darzustellen und (c) Befunde der von HoF und CHE durchgeführten Befragungen von Postdocs sowie Professorinnen und Professoren zu ihrem Qualifizierungsweg vorzustellen. Geboten wird daneben (d) ein bundesweiter Einblick in Aufgaben, Adressatenkreis und Ausstattung institutioneller Dachstrukturen für die Unterstützung und Koordinierung der Qualifizierungsprozesse in der Promotions- und Postdoc-Phase. Letzterer stützt sich auf eine Online-Befragung der Hochschulen mit Promotionsrecht. Die Studie schließt mit Hinweisen auf Informationsdefizite und Vorschlägen zur Verbesserung der Datenlage. The study on funding programmes and forms of doctorate was carried out within the framework of the "Bundesreport Wissenschaftlicher Nachwuchs" (National Report on Junior Scholars) commissioned by the German Federal Government. Its third edition was presented to the public in February 2017. As a member of the Scientific Consortium HoF is involved since 2006 in the realization of the National Report. This time the institute (a) maps out the broad range of funding scene ranging from programmes by non-university research institutions, at EU and German Federal/Lander level to funding organizations and foundations, (b) examines the variety of forms of doctorate on the basis of evaluating statistics and a systematic review of literature; (c) presents the results of surveys conducted by HoF and CHE interviewing postdocs and professors on their qualification path. Finally (d), a holistic nationwide overview is given on tasks, target groups and resources of institutional umbrella structures to support and coordinate the qualification processes during the doctoral and postdoctoral phase. It is based on an online survey of universities with the right to award doctorates. The study concludes with the indication of information gaps and proposals for improving the data situation.
