• Abstract Cantus Firmus and Polyphony - the One Service and the Many Offices: On the Theology of Church Professions. The one Christian service includes the dimensions of martyria, koinonia, diakonia, leiturgia, and paideia. It can - but not exclusively - be differentiated accordingly in accentuated offices. Church professions associated with such offices can be distinguished and also treated differently, e. g. regarding payment. This, however, should only be legitimised on functional grounds (c.f. the quality and extent of academical training). Ordained ministry sets apart some people on symbolic grounds: Some from the general priesthood of all Christians publicly and visibly take on responsibility for the congregation as awhole in a continuous way and lead it by such reflections for which profound theology is required.
