Beschreibungen/Notizen
Following the death of Bruno Bettelheim in 1990, there was much open discussion about his life's work and his person, and the critics shocked the public with reports of occasionally violent and uncontrolled effects by Bettelheim on the "Orthogenic School". One of the few in Germany who knew Bettelheim personally describes his own memories of the man. Notes that although he behaved in such an authoritarian and European manner in the United States, he represented a democratic American in the views of young German students in the 1950s and fought for democracy during his stay in Germany around that time.
