  • Reuven Feuerstein's theory of cognitive modifiability is finding continued interest and support among professionals in the fields of psychology and education. This paper describes those aspects of Feuerstein's theory which hold profound implications for the learning disabled. Additionally, the paper describes a pilot study of one component (Organization of Dots) of the Feuerstein remedial technique called Instrumental Enrichment. The program was administered to four post-secondary students in attendance at a business training institute in Chicago. The subjects of the study, although not formally classified as learning disabled, displayed learning characteristics of learning disabled youth. The Raven's Standard Progressive Matrices as well as a Feuerstein pre-post measure were utilized. Results indicated that the treatment had made a profound impact on the subjects.
