We model the melting of a pure material during modulated temperature differential scanning calorimetry (MTDSC) as a one-dimensional two-phase Stefan problem. For the case in which the latent heat is large, we obtain an analytical approximate solution using perturbation methods. For small latent heat we solve the problem numerically by the enthalpy method. Also we analyze the solution for small times. Finally, the results are used to simulate MTDSC signal during the melting.
