Creach interprets Psalm 70, which communicates theological lessons in at least three ways--it gives testimony to the importance of complaint and petition as a manner of addressing God, consists almost entirely of petitions borne of trouble, and begins and ends with urgent pleas for God to deliver the one who prays. The imperative husa in the first and last verses creates an envelope around the psalm that expresses the psalmist's intense need. Between the opening and closing petitions, five sentences spell out the nature of the deliverance the psalmist seeks.
