On the basis of two images announcing the initiation of peace dialogues to put an end to the internal conflict between the Colombian Government and the FARC-EP in 2102, the article analyzes the worldviews suggested and the images of themselves and of their institutional groups portrayed by the actors. The approach used is framed within the theoretical and methodological advances in the field of image interpretation and uses Karl Mannheims documentary method. The discussion of the results addresses three moments: formulated interpretation, reflconective interpretation, and contrastive interpretation. The conclusions revisit the empirical issue, linking it to the theoretical implications of the documentary method of interpretation.
