• In this paper a reformulation of the inverse scattering theory for a three‐dimensional Schrödinger equation is given in terms of the standing wave solutions and the reactance matrix. A counterpart of the generalized Marchenko equation is given as well as a trace‐type formula for the potential. Derivations are based on the ∂̄ method in the complex k plane.
