• The O KVV line shape of O2 is analyzed using Xα one-electron populations and empirically derived atomic matrix elements. A simple method is presented for including the broadening effects of final state nuclear vibrational motion. The energies, widths, and intensities of the major features are qualitatively accounted for in this treatment.
