• A translation of "Chronyc. historie der Nederlandtscher oorlogen, troublen enn oproeren oorspronck, anvanck enn eynde, item den standt der religien, tot desen jare 1580", which is sometimes attributed to Philips van Marnix van St. Aldegonde and to Carolus Rijckewaert (called Theophilus); the latter signs the second dedication here. The French edition, "Histoire des troubles", from which this English text was translated, is sometimes attributed to Jean François Le Petit. Both are partly based on: Henricpetri, Adam. General historien der aller namhafftigsten unnd fürnembsten Geschichten, Thaten und Handlungen. - Appears at reel 359 (Henry E. Huntington Library and Art Gallery copy) and at reel 1561 (Cambridge University Library copy). - Book 4 begins new pagination on 2A1r. - Dawson printed quires A-S (STC). - Identified as STC 23945 on UMI microfilm reel 359, and as STC 23946 on reel 1561. - Includes index. - Reel 359: -a3-4, 2A1-2.
