• Thyroid cancer is a relatively common disease with several diverse types. Management of individuals with suspected and diagnosed thyroid cancer requires expertise of primary care clinicians, endocrinologists, surgeons, radiation and medical oncologists, and other specialists. Our understanding of the molecular basis of thyroid cancer has improved considerably and may lead to better targeted agents to treat thyroid cancer.
