Beschreibungen/Notizen
This chapter provides an overview of group therapist behaviors that are necessary to develop and maintain the therapeutic frame needed to conduct Schema Therapy (ST) in a group. The goals of ST reach beyond teaching behavioral skills to include the fundamental work of personality change. This change is conceptualized as involving decreasing the intensity of maladaptive schemas that trigger under‐ or over‐modulated emotion and action states referred to as modes. Limited reparenting is both a therapist style and an active ingredient or component of mode‐change work. The goal of limited reparenting is to establish an active, supportive, and genuine relationship with the patient that provides a safe environment for the patient to be vulnerable and to express emotions and needs.
