- Pulmonary lymphangioleiomyomatosis （PLAM） is a rare disease primarily occurring in women at reproductive age, and characterized by abnormal proliferation of immature smooth muscle cells named lymphangioleiomyomatosis （LAM） cells in the pulmonary lymphatics, blood vessels and airways, resulting in respiratory failure and death.
