World chronicles of the later Middle Ages are rich sources not only on political and ecclesiastical events but also on famous authors. Many chronicles describe the lives and works of the well-knownmagistri, in particular of the twelfth century: Hugh of St. Victor, Bernard of Clairvaux, Peter Lombard, and others.
