• Biological, physical, behavioural, social and educational phenomena are often characterized by multiple factors or variables. Therefore, any systematic attempt to understand them requires the examination of multiple dimensions that are usually interrelated. The subject of multivariate analysis deals with the statistical analysis of the data collected on more than one variable. These variables may be correlated with each other. In practical situation, most data collection schemes or designed experiments result in multivariate data. A few examples of such situations are given below.
