• Bihar is a state that has its ancient glory hitting rock bottom, resulting in its isolation from the mainstream development of the country. In recent years, it has emerged as one of India's most vibrant and fastest developing economies. Despite this growth, Bihar has witnessed an exceptionally higher extent of human deprivation in global terms and the rest of the Indian states. Although the state expenditure in the social sector is increasing, Bihar stood at the bottom among other states of India. This resulted in minimal per capita development expenditure. The state needs huge investment in social infrastructure. Bihar urgently needs to prioritize the experience of MDGs.
