The open source software systems are always evolving with the additions of new features, bug fixes and collaboration of many developers often around the world. The modularity of the system metrics help to better understand the characteristics of the system and guarantee the quality of software. In this article, we will compare the evolution of some software metrics, in particular complexity and coupling, with the evolution of the number of bug fixes, additions and features contributions from developers over software versions. Showing that the bug fixes, adding features and contribution of developers exerts a strong influence on the increase of the metrics.
