The increasing use of microservices architecture demonstrates how its emphasis on technological limits and modularity may improve software design and delivery. Nonetheless, difficulties still exist about ownership of microservice, service integration, and team decoupling. The PhD research aims to investigate team ownership in microservices and suggest ways to achieve a balance between decoupling, coordination, and system cohesiveness. The study will specifically address three important questions: Initially, it will look into methods of achieving a balance between the needs for coordination and service integration to maintain system cohesion and team decoupling. Secondly, I aim to investigate the impact of clear service ownership on the efficiency and quality of service development. Moreover, the research aim is to examine how different skill combinations, role distribution, team sizes and personalities affect the performance of microservice system through an analysis of team composition.
