Based on the mathematical model with nonlinear generalized boundary conditions, which represent the influence of thin coatings on the thermal state of a body, the statements of the nonlinear nonstationary heat conduction problem and the corresponding thermoelastic problem for a half-space with a multilayer coating for radiative–convective heat transfer with an ambient medium are formulated. An analytical–numerical method for solving the thermal problem is elaborated using the integral Laplace transform and the quasi-linearization method. Numerical computations are performed to analyze the influence of geometrical and thermophysical characteristics of the coating and the parameters of radiative–convective heat exchange with the ambient medium on the transient temperature field and thermal stresses caused by it in the half-space/two-layer wear-resistant coating assembly.
