  • The article deals with the Thetos system that translates Polish texts into sign language. We try to significantly improve the quality of translations. Thus we have recently decided to take into account the meaning of sentences, syntactic groups (SGs) and individual words they are composed of, what we previously ignored. In the paper we describe the work on our SG-model of semantics. The foundation of the model is a predicate-argument representation, which expresses relations between the syntactic tree root, which is a verb syntactic group, and its arguments. The model is completed by semantic relations that exist between the terms occurring in separate arguments, as well as by those that are hidden in the syntactic relations. In the paper we deal with the interpretation of relations within 1st level syntactic groups, especially the attributive groups. We show transformation rules of relations properties which are taken into account. We give examples of transformations.
