• It might be time to add another "opathy" to the list of complications of diabetes. "Periodontopathy" could very well describe the mouth disorders that affect many patients with either type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Fortunately, as the authors of this article point out, there are a number of things that can be done to reduce the risks-not the least of which is a careful search for what the mouth can tell us.
