• Catherine Hapka, most recently executive vice president of U.S. West Communications Inc., has been named president of Nets Inc., a privately held company focused on business-to-business electronic commerce on the Internet. Hapka will report to Jim Manzi, chairman of Nets Inc. (http://www.netsinc.com). Ms. Hapka, 42, will assume her role as president on March 3. She will be responsible for operations and for developing strategies to grow the business. Reporting to Ms. Hapka will be Mark Teflian, vice president of engineering and chief technology officer; Ian Richmond, vice president of marketing; Steve O'Neill, vice president of sales and service; Russ Campanello, vice president of human development and organizational productivity; Neal Goldman, vice president and general counsel; and a chief financial officer to be hired.
