AkzoNobel (Amsterdam, the Netherlands) announced that all its locations in North America are operating on 100% renewable electricity to help the company reach its goal of reducing carbon emissions across its entire value chain by 50% from a 2018 baseline by 2030. AkzoNobel transitioned European sites to 100% renewable electricity at the start of 2022. To reach its goal, the company has installed solar panels at many of its manufacturing sites, warehouses, and research and development facilities, and has sourced the remaining renewable electricity necessary for operations from certified clean energy utilities.
