Most long-term disability plans are designed to provide replacement income coverage for the average employee. As a result, they do not provide enough income to executives and other high-wage earners, who can suffer catastrophic drops in income if they become disabled. One way to level the playing field for highly compensated employees is to boost the maximum of the LTD plan for all employees.
