The mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in the media, information, marketing, and technology sectors maintained a steady pace during the first three quarters of 2011. In a recent overview report from The Jordan, Edmiston Group Inc (JEGI), about 700 transactions recorded $35.3 billion in transaction value through Sep 30, 2011, which represents a 10% hike above the same period in 2010. JEGI reported that strategic buyers are setting the market pace as reflected in the number of major corporations that are investing in growth and new revenue streams to equalize competitive pressure and sudden shifts in traditional markets.
