• We have studied conditions for bismuth ferrite, BiFeO 3 , crystallization from off-stoichiometric Bi 2 O 3 -Fe 2 O 3 melts, obtained crystals of different morphological types (dendritic and faceted pseudocubic) up to 3 mm in size, and characterized them by a variety of techniques (X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, differential thermal analysis, X-ray structure analysis, and X-ray microanalysis).
