INITIAL DOMINANT-NONDOMINANT RESPONSE PATTERNS IN DYADS WERE SUBSEQUENTLY MODIFIED BY REINFORCEMENT; BOTH PUNISHMENT GROUPS WERE MORE EFFECTIVE THAN REWARD-NONREWARD, BUT ALL 3 REINFORCEMENT COMBINATIONS WERE SIGNIFICANTLY MORE EFFECTIVE THAN CONTROL; THE MODIFIED DOMINANT-NONDOMINANT RESPONSE PATTERNS DYADS WERE NOT GENERALIZED.
