Beschreibungen/Notizen
Swine were exposed experimentally to Ascaris suum, and cambendazole was fed prophylactically at dietary concentrations of 0.01 and 0.03%. The concentration was effective in controlling a moderate lower infection but not in controlling a very severe infection. The higher drug level gave virtually complete protection against both the moderate and the very severe infection. Cambendazole was given as a single oral dose to pigs with patent experimental infections of Strongyloides ransomi. Dosages of 7.5 and 15 mg./kg. (the only dosages tested) were more than 99% effective in reducing the number of eggs in the faeces and the number of worms recovered from the intestines.
