• The Jordan, Edmiston Group Inc (JEGI) reports that the healthcare information and technology sector has been "a vibrant market for merger and acquisition activity." In 2008, 122 transactions valued at $7.3 billion represented a 21% uptick in deals and an 83% increase in value over 2007 levels, according to a JEGI report. The healthcare sector's middle market ($500 million and below) is the most active, says Elizabeth Satin, JEGI managing director, noting that many companies are expanding their portfolios with healthcare information services and technologies.
