- Rapid socio-economic development has occurred, with its attendant changes in life style and food consumption patterns. As a result, the affluent dietary disease are becoming major health problems in Saudi Arabia. Based on the available information, there is an urgent need to initiate nutrition education programmes to correct the dietary habits and food consumption patterns, and to stress the importance of a balanced diet.
