• Public opinion surveys in Moldova (N = 3,006) indicate that up to 80% of the Moldovan population is dissatisfied with how market & democratic reforms have been evolving. It is claimed that the situation in Moldova should be described as widespread social disorganization & the government's unfulfilled duties to provide social protection & create conditions for decent life for its citizens. Dangerous growth of crime, including organized crime, is deemed the most serious problem. Suggestions are made to introduce policies for fighting & reducing crime & corruption. J. Klimov
