After reviewing the two leading paradigms in creativity research -- generative & problem solving -- explored is whether: (1) the creative achievement involved in generating & completing pictures is linked with the general approach toward problem solving represented by heuristic competence, & (2) the results of generating ecosocial problems are connected with measures of creativity & intelligence. Inventory & other data obtained from 49 students at a technical college in Czechoslovakia demonstrate a connection between heuristic competence & figurative originality, as well as among the ability to see ecosocial problems, figurative fluency/originality, & nonverbal intelligence. 35 References.
