• This work proposes to demonstrate the existence of a continuity in education, one to which the Spanish conservative right-wing remains loyal in its precepts; a continuity that originated in the first moments of the liberal State & has generated educational policies cut from the same pattern: basic marginalization of the State, the tendency to transform educational spaces into a private arena in order to conform ideologically & systematically to ecclesiastical or confessional institutions, & a permanent presence of Catholic credo in pedagogical orientation, that comes directly from the power base or indirectly from the institutional network that has been created over the centuries. An explanation for this reality & its historical incapability of redesigning itself might be found in the associative weakness of our civil society. Adapted from the source document.
