This collection of papers contains critical comments on the proceedings of the 15th Deutscher Soziologentag, held in honors of M. Weber. H. P. Bahrdt discusses Weber's concept of powerpol, the connections & discrepancies which have become apparent in its diff interpretations, & its possible application in present-day pol'al thought. This concept bears on Weber's stature in the German intellectual tradition even more than on his role as a sociol'st. E. Bubser reviews the discussion about Weber's postulates of Wertfreiheit & objectivity in the soc sci's, & demonstrates how they have been confused with other questions re sci'fic method & the meaning of sociol'al theory. K. Thomas describes the proceedings on sociol of religion & ethnosociol, fields in which Weber inaugurated important res. 'Industrialization and Capitalism' by H. P. Dreitzel gives a critical evaluation of a paper by H. Marcuse & touches upon Weber's central concepts, esp the concept of Rationalitaet, the clarification of which might easily be the crux of what contemporary German sociol'al thought has inherited from Weber.
