The essay examines the supposed linkages between peace, justice, & economic reform, explicating various definitions of justice in political & economic philosophy. The author considers the implications of the image of "blind justice," moving on to analyze conservative, majoritarian, contractual (Rawlsian), egalitarian, & Lockean liberal models. From the classical liberal model emerges the strongest definition of justice: eradication of all taxes, maximal personal responsibility, & institutions that foster "natural" equal opportunity. These are the bases for collective peace; individual peace remains a matter for individual volition. K. Coddon
