• In a collection of essays previously published as separate journal articles, the author provides a foundation for understanding the "the military-industrial-congressional complex" (MICC) &its impact on the political economy. The author applies his analysis to developing an understanding the length of the Great Depression, the role of WWII in getting the US out of the Great Depression, how the war altered the relations between central government & big business, the profitability of defense contracts, & the impact of public opinion on military spending. The study offers an analysis of the impact of government policy stemming from the MICC on the political economy, tracing this from the 1930s to the end of the Cold War. Tables, Figures, References.
