Beschreibungen/Notizen
The aim of this article is to analyze the consequences of the German government's 1998 decision to stop the production of nuclear energy on the long-standing relations between economic interest groups & governmental actors. The authors argue that the political paradigm change led to a significant change in the structures of the relationship between these actors. The different periods of the overall German policy change are examined, analyzing the influence of actors' ideas & strategies. While the successive policy changes in the 1980s & 1990s triggered only minor adaptations of interest group strategies, the 1998 decision abruptly broke the strong links between interest groups & governmental actors. As a result, interest groups reach out for the establishment of new international & European networks. The article shows, however, that these new strategies are still very much influenced by the national structures in which they originated. References. Adapted from the source document.
