An examination of the entire range of constructions in which the Gothic particle -(u)h occurs. The primary use of the particle was within anaphoric (coreferential & iterative) sequential structures, with the function of discourse resumptive particle. As such, it is directly comparable to similar particles in Homeric Greek (au) & Vedic Sanskrit (u). This substantiates a derivation proposed by Karl Brugmann ("Die gotische Partikel -uh, -h" [The Gothic Particle -uh, -h], Indogermanische Forschungen 33, 1913-1914, 173-180).
