Beschreibungen/Notizen
Some recent sociological approaches to the analysis of discourse are reviewed. An attempt is made to integrate linguistic discourse analysis with sociology as a whole. Attention is focused on text grammar. An overview of work in this area indicates that conversational analysis contributes to linguistic discourse analysis by providing analytic procedures for examining interactional aspects of discourse. It is also argued that linguistic discourse analysis is self-limiting in terms of the roster of factors that are supposed to contribute to the "total abstraction that discourse is designed to evoke." A conversational analysis is more well-rounded & examines social & interactional & linguistic categories. 71 References. B. Annesser Murray
