- Coating of metallic implants with CaP is a common method of improving osseointegration of the device. In this study Ca(OH)2 coatings are analyzed combining the advantage of initial bacteriocidity with–after conversion of the hydroxide to hydroxyapatite in physiological media–good osteoconductivity.
