• The properties of natural rubber/ethylene proplylene diene monomer (NR/EPDM) and NR/precured EPDM(P-EPDM) blends cured by di-cumyl peroxide (DCP)/co-curing agent were studied, and the curing characteristic of EPDM compounds was investigated, the vulcanizates of the compounds were analyzed by differential scanning calo-rimetry. The results showed that NR/EPDM blends had better co-curing behavior with DCP/co-curing agent as curing system. The better co-curing behavior of NR/P-EPDM blends was attributed to the P-EP-DM which could not only restrain the migration of rubber ingredients but improve the reactivity of EPDM and co-cure with NR.
