Temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD) is a common condition, with patients reporting symptoms to both dentists and doctors. The aetiology of TMD is likely to be multifactorial, with occlusal, parafunctional and psychological factors all potentially playing a part to varying degrees in different individuals.
