Beyond the social determinants of health, however, there is increasing concern for the disproportionate effects of the commercial determinants of health, defined as those activities in the private sector that influence social, physical, and cultural environments through business actions and societal engagements, such as supply chains, labour conditions, product design and packaging, research funding, and lobbying.
